The terrible fire of August 2013 in the Nature Reserve Ripari di Giobbe caused the loss of many hectares of Mediterranean shrub, green frame of the wonderful Ortona’s cliff. Bare of vegetation, some parts of the hill in Punta di Ferruccio slid – included the dirt road to the beach – after last winter and spring’s heavy showers. So the evil hand of the man has marred one of the most beautiful beaches in Abruzzo. But Nature has already begun to heal the wounds caused by the human stupidity and we are sure that it will give us back in short the heaven that we all remember, despite somebody had turned it into a hell as these photos show.
