Melchiorre Delfico Province Library, Teramo

The gorgeous eighteenth-century palace of Delfico family, located in Teramo’s city centre in Delfico street n. 16, houses the Melchiorre Delfico Province Library since 2004. Made up of three floors, it boasts over 300.000 volumes, including many ancient books, manuscripts and a valuable literary section dedicated to Abruzzo. The philosopher and politician Melchiorre Delfico linked his name to Teramo’s library, opened by Joachim Murat in 1814 in the building of Real Collegio, since in 1826 he gave it over 300 books from his own collection.

Today the Melchiorre Delfico Province Library is a cultural centre of excellence, enriched by the elegance of its fine interiors.
