Lucius Valerius Pudens

Lucius Valerius Pudens (Lucio Valerio Pudente in Italian) was born in Histonium, today Vasto, in 93 AD, though the first report of his existence dates back to 106 AD, when, just thirteen, he was crowned Latin poet by Emperor Traianus. Unfortunately nothing of the poetry of Pudens came to us. Nevertheless Vasto dedicated the square in front of the cathedral of San Giuseppe and D’Avalos Palace to his Latin poet.
