Rivisondoli is a typical mountain village perched on the Piano delle Cinque Miglia. Far from being abandoned, despite the normal population decline in recent decades, it is tidy and vital in its economic and tourist activities. A stay of the royal family in Rivisondoli in 1913 determined its tourist vocation. The ski slopes of Monte Pratello are among the most efficient and best equipped in South-central Italy and also the summer tourist offer is excellent.
Since the early 50s Rivisondoli has been the set of a live nativity scene much appreciated in the region and beyond. The Museum of Art of the Nativity was founded from this sacred tradition.
