The Orsini Castle rises at the foot of Mount Velino on a summit overlooking the ancient city of Alba Fucens and via Tiburtina Valeria. Built by the Counts of Albe, it was destroyed by Charles of Anjou in the second half of the XIII century. It was rebuilt under the Orsini, its last owners.
The castle has a rectangular plan. Two circular towers are still visible rising from the walls, on the north and south corner, and the ruins of a square tower are on the west corner. The gateway consists of a pointed arch.
Today the castle is in ruins and abandoned. We call for its recovery for its architectural, historical and landscape value.
