Abbateggio, about 400 inhabitants, is located in the Province of Pescara, in the Majella National Park. It is one of the most beautiful Italian villages. The historic centre is featured by white-stone-houses. The origins of the village date back to the Dark Age.

Abbateggio, also called “spelt village”, is also renowned for Giumentina Valley and the literary prize Majella Park.
